Has Article Marketing Changed Forever?

Article marketing has been a search engine optimisation strategy since the first day of the World Wide Web. But it’s recently been changed rather drastically, and it may be changed forever.

So what happened?

Google performed one of its famous (or infamous) algorithm changes and it really knocked up the article directories pretty good. Some of the largest and most popular article directories lost thousands of visitors overnight. Actually, more like in the time frame it takes to snap your fingers. It was quick. They’re still reeling.

Because of this change, article directories are not the best place for publishing your articles right now. You won’t get the backlinks you are seeking.

Instead of sending your articles to the article directories, try publishing them at HubPages, Squidoo, and Google Knol. Oh, and don’t leave out niche websites and blogs within your own industry. Those are the best places for getting your backlinks, and for getting your articles published.

If you are conducting any type of Internet marketing, especially search engine optimisation, then you’ve got to be flexible. What works today may not work next year so be ready and willing to change. It’s the only way to survive with online marketing.
