Klout Has Added More Social Networks

Since my last post on Klout, the service has added seven more social media services to its list of influence metrics. That’s just all the more reason for you to start using it.

The list of sites being monitored by Klout now are ten. Here’s the list in full:

  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Facebook
  • Tumblr
  • Blogger
  • Instagram
  • Flickr
  • Foursquare
  • YouTube

That’s quite a list, but it’s not complete. Klout is making plans to include Yelp, Quora, Posterous,, Google+, and Facebook pages. Does anyone else think that’s awesome?

I’d really like to see Klout start measuring the influence on European sites like Bebo, Habbo, and Hi5.

There are other sites that Klout could monitor social media influence on that are even popular outside of Europe and the U.S. Orkut, for instance, is very popular in Brazil. If Klout truly wants to become the social media metrics site for the world, then it should start thinking globally.

Some other social media sites Klout should add include Friendster, Picasa, Ning, Meetup, MyLife, Flixter, Multiply, Badoo, SkyRock, Xing, Hyves, Mixi, and Cyworld, just to name a few. Some of these sites are popular within specific countries such as Cyworld in South Korea and Mixi in Japan. But adding them to the social media influence list for Klout users would make Klout a global social media metrics website.

I like Klout. I think it is limited in its current iteration, but I’m looking forward to watching it grow.
